MeasureMe Stick Portable Wooden Modern Growth Chart

I only get to pick one? Once again, I can’t decide. The problem is I know which one I really love, but I can’t convince myself that I have $120 to spend. I’ve mentioned the MeasureMe Stick (shown above) before, and it’s stunning. But since I intend to hide the damn thing behind a door and out of Birdie’s reach for the next couple of years, I’m trying to be more practical. One must remember that what might seem like an heirloom moment now (which is the codeword for “spend whatever you want”) will, in 15 years or so, be an eyeroll moment. And eventually, delegated to the attic? At least, that’s how I’m trying to convince myself.

I believe the best growth charts needs to be portable (because we better move out of this godforsaken house before she’s 18) and easy to store. So I need your help folks. which growth chart should we get? Or, maybe you’ll indulge me and vote for the MeasureMe Stick? Give me your best arguments in the comments below, I’m in your hands!

Great minds think alike: http://buymodernbaby.com/blog/2010/04/08/etsy-find-portable-growth-charts/
If you want to try DIY check out the bottom picture- made out of a hardware store doorpost and permanent marker. Otherwise I would get the one from inklore (though mine is cheaper!)
I also love the tutorial for the one you show on the bottom!

Esther, that is hilarious – the same exact charts! I love it!
I also really like your DIY idea, I’ve been noodling around with my own ideas for a DIY chart, but I know my time is not my own these days so I’m thinking if I want one before Birdie is 5 I better buy one!

Thanks for sharing your growth chart Cathe!
I can’t help but think how long it must have taken to do the illustrations for Bold & Noble’s Growth Chart – the details are perfect!

Hi
Thanks for your lovely post!
We are delighted you like our height chart. It did that quite a while as our illustrations are hand drawn then silk screened. But well worth it!

Hi, found your blog via AT, and it’s now bookmarked! I originally planned on buying this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/51563020/growth-chart-numbers-childrens-vinyl

but I think I’m in love with the measureme stick! What I like about the stick is that you can take it with you when you move and the colors match my baby’s nursery! Thanks!

Hi Yvette! So glad you found the blog. AT – does that mean Apartment Therapy?
I agree, the wall chart you found on etsy is great – but I think portability trumps the wall graphic. If you get the MeasureMe Stick – let me know what you think of it when you see it in person!
