can you think-et?

Think-ets Travel Strategy Memory Games

I typed that title up there, looked away from the computer for a moment, and returned to read it. Then promptly decided that no, I can’t even think right now, much less think-et. I guess it was a long weekend! Still, this cleverly simple game has caught my attention. It reminds me of all the long road trips I have planned for our future with Birdie. I’ve already started to warn my husband that we need to go to the Grand Canyon (he’s never been), and one of my favorite childhood destinations: Wall Drug (no, the website does not do it justice). If he’s lucky, I’ll be able to wait until Birdie is old enough to actually enjoy Think-ets on those long rides. Think-ets are open-ended games that are all about your imagination – whether travelling, or playing at home. A box or pouch and several tiny objects are all you need for storytelling, memory games, and strategy games too. I’m just glad I’ve got a couple of years to get my mind in better shape for thinking.

Thanks to LMNOP for highlighting these games for me to find.

Love this post. What a great teaching tool too, ay? One is never too old to play games, I try to infuse my teaching with games once in awhile to break out of the routine. What a great idea Mari. Hey, we’d love to go to Wall Drug with you guys, that would be a fun trip!

You are such a good teacher – what a great idea, to use this concept in the classroom!
And did you seriously just say you’ll go to Wall Drug with me?! Let the planning begin NOW!

I have no idea what this game is. Please explain it to me and make my long car trips more bearable. :0) By the size of the pieces I can tell that I’m going to heart this game.

I think that’s kind of the point. From an adult’s point of view, it’s not clear. But the game is supposed to be very open-ended and imaginative with lots of options for game-play. It does come with guidelines and instructions for various games – including strategy, memory games, storytelling, and word games. Hope that helps!
