the smell of new fall clothes

li li picked kate quinn organics pintuck dress sale

Usually I can pretend that the warm sunny days of summer continue through a good portion of this month. Not this year: a dramatic shift of the weather came along with our first day of September. It’s been so cloudy and cool that  it’s forcing me to deal with Birdie’s fall/winter wardrobe a little earlier than I’d like. We were even considering fleecy pajamas yesterday. Since we don’t have to worry about school clothes yet, I was hoping to wait for some fall sales before we started gathering our wardrobe. (then I get to buy more!) But, let me share with you some of my favorite places to shop right now – and there’s more to come tomorrow.

I’ve mentioned Emily’s website before, but it’s thanks to her that Birdie has some of our favorite articles of clothing – including this Kate Quinn Organics Coat that we used last winter, and the Pintuck Dress shown above. Watch for her Special Picks for even sweeter prices.

Prices here are similar to the Gap, but the styles are a bit hipper. Turns out these guys are a subsidiary of American Eagle Outfitters, but I’ve never seen one of their brick and mortar stores around here.

crazy 8’s
The prices here cannot be beat. I don’t like all of their selections, but you can bet when I’m ready to buy Birdie’s skinny jeans I’ll be looking here – they’re $9.99 – $14.99! (in the meantime I’m hoping to scout out some jeans while out thrifting!)

Where do you guys score your best kids clothing finds? Share in the comments section below – I’m dying to know! (and I’m rhyming about it?!)

Hey! I just ordered that coat and that dress from LiLiPicked, super excited to get them (although I think they are both in age 7 and my kids are ahem, not seven yet. BUt! Super good deals and timeless cool, cannot go wrong!)

YES – now our girls can match!! Plus, the fabrics on those items feel so good. Though, I’ve been afraid to see how small that jacket is, considering we haven’t worn it since last spring. Probably won’t fit.

Sadly, none. I’m about to embark on one of my other 8 “careers:” designing fantastic clothes for little boys. Apparently kids’ fashion designers don’t care about moms who have sons. I refuse to put skulls & crossbones on my 5yo!

Boys clothes are so much harder than girls – keeping them fun and full of boyish charm without going overboard is a tough one. Good luck …

just found this old post. :-) baby gap is really hit or miss for me…some seasons i really like their lines, and others, not so much. i actually really love 77kids…i think the quality of their clothes is so much better than baby gap (at least it seems like they handle multiple washes really well without looking too tattered). i only wish they had a bigger selection. but i fell in love with their jeans because it is extremely hard to find adjustable waist jeans — crazy 8 stopped carrying them…although, come to think of it, i think baby gap just started carrying them. but i can’t resist the cute back pockets that the 77kids jeans have. :-) as i write this, i just received an order that included this shirt. http://www.ae.com/77kids/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat2090067&productId=prod1060203 i love it and the quality of it feels so great! :-)

just checked out li li and i love their stuff too…adorable!

LOVE that shirt Leah! Great find.
I’m glad to hear 77kids clothing is of good quality, I’m gearing up to embark on the seasonal clothes overhaul around here – time to shop for summer finds!
