Arctecnica Modern Funky Minimal Mobile for Kids and Adults on A+R store

I’ve decided to let go of my more purist approach to the holidays, and I’m officially declaring that I can embrace Christmas before Thanksgiving. Horrifying, I know. But if I don’t, then I don’t have enough time to actually enjoy one of my favorite times of the year! The best way to get into the spirit? Ella Fitzgerald. Today I’ve been listening to Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas, and it made everything a little bit better.  What’s your favorite Christmas music? I need some more!

Here are this week’s top picks:

  • (image above) Artecnica’s Themis Mobile may be my new favorite non-average mobile for your kids room. Hang this over the crib asap. The colors and shapes are perfect for little ones to stare at, and lightweight enough to catch the slightest breeze.
  • When (not if, when) I finally get my new iPhone 4, this super slim, sleek iPhone 4 wood skin on etsy may need to be overnighted to my house.
  • Now that Birdie is approaching her 2nd Birthday, I’m giving in and wanting some DVD’s to help us through sick days like last weekend (thank god for Yo Gabba Gabba on Sunday). I found this list of Family Movie for Kids on Babble.com and it was thought-provoking. Not for a 2 year old, but definitely as we grow older!
  • I’m wishing I could convince myself that Birdie needs these adorable, simple knee-high boots from Baby Gap. She doesn’t, obviously, but I’m still working on my arguments.
  • Draw Pilgrim’s sweet Thanksgiving download is available in color, for your cards and placemats, and black and white, for your little creative ones. Wish I’d thought of doing a download for all of you! (Wish I had the time too!) Found via Modern Kiddo.

Miz Big- I totally just ordered this for my baby girl’s nursery! I’ve been looking for something that is simple, bold, and something that would move well with the slightest breeze. It’s perfect, especially with our deep olive color walls. I think a newborn will be able to gaze up at this easily, but keep her entertained for months-years to come! Thanks for the great find!!

this mobile is so great – and it reminds me of mpls artist Laura Stack – how great would this mobile be coupled with some original artwork? (i am a believer that even babies can start collecting art!)
