After an epic birthday weekend extravaganza including waffles, dolphins, eagles, mating gibbons, flamingos, sharks, angel fish, snow monkeys, tacos, macaroni and cheese, fake thunderstorms, 3 new doors to cover 3 large messes, vacuuming, party hat making, favor box assembling, cake decorating at 11:30 PM, bathroom cleaning, wonderful friends and family, the most thoughtful birthday gifts, and the best rendition of “Happy Birthday” I’ve ever heard, I’m kaput. No, actually, we’re all kaput. My only goal today is a little visual rest, a virtual, visual spa-day in the world of Small for Big.
So I’m choosing a moment of design simplicity: the Karl Zahn Whale Box from Fawn and Forest ($49). I wish it was as large as a whale, because then it might actually contain all the wondrous toys we now own. But alas, it is a wee whale. On the plus side, it does help me expose an emerging trend. Mark my words people. What once was owls, will soon be whales. This mighty creature is a trend in the making.
Stay tuned, I promise to post some pictures of the birthday party soon!

Your description is so lovely, I really wish the picture would load for me :)
Well, shoot, what the heck is that all about? I can see it fine on my laptop, but it looks like I can’t see it on my iPhone. Hmmm. Where are you viewing the post from?
OK – I think I fixed it. Not sure the specifics, but it’s a browser issue. I could see it in Safari, but not Firefox.
Sorry for the mix-up folks! Phew!
ah ha! Totally worth the wait – that is lovely.
