Pictures? You wanted to see pictures right? Good, cuz I got pictures!
If you look back at last week’s post of inspirations, I think you’ll see how the colors, the tissue balls, and the cake relate to the images I was oggling. The gorgeous single-pointed pennant banners are from hip hooray, while the double-pointed banners were re-used from last year’s birthday party (handmade by moi). We also featured a delicious taco bar – because that is her all-time favorite food (and yes, she really does ask for them at 7:30 in the morning).
I gathered up some tins and little trinkets to make fascination boxes for the kidlets, a la Think-ets. These favors should keep you occupied at your next restaurant visit, doctor’s office, etc. Each box of Birdie’s Shiny Bits & Bobs included a knit finger puppet, a couple of plastic farm animals, a magnifying glass, and some temporary tattoos. But let me tell you, there are about a dozen more things I wanted to include! (I’m saving those for next year).
And of course, here’s a couple extra shots of the kiddos, because how could you not include them? Birdie loved her cake so much we caught her licking the cake server spatula later (non-serated, no harm done!). The boys loved the party hats – would you like me to post a tutorial on those hats? I learned a thing or two as I made them!

Thanks! I had so much fun gathering ideas and pieces for the Bits & Bobs Favors, it’s really easy to get carried away!
The word that comes to mind is “cheerful”… and I love those pics with the funny glasses :)
I like that, I definitely wanted light and bright and cheerful admidst all of our cold January weather.
Most stylish birthday ever!
You must have heard that flattery will get you far, right? Thanks Cassie!
My favorite picture is of the birthday girl LOVING her cake :-)
Thanks Esther – I had great fun with that cake, even if it was decorated very very late the night before. I was sad when it was all gone – I’d hardly seen it!
Gosh that little boy with the green glasses sure is a cutey. And I want your camera.
hehe, I think that was the only moment I saw him with a serious face all afternoon!
It’s funny that you want my camera, I’m always wanting someone else’s!
I love the decor – it’s fancy and fun at the same time! Very whimsical. Looks like everyone had a great time!
Thanks Jo – that’s the kind vibe I love, so I’m glad it turned out looking that way too.
Ummm… Brilliant.
