Danger Craft's Hip Monster Knitting Patterns and Kits with Yarn on Etsy

There’s something about January. It’s the perfect storm of winter white snow, evenings that begin at 4:45 PM, and temperatures that keep me parked in front of every warm draft I find (restaurant fireplaces, restroom handdryers, entryway blowers, wherever). These things leave me with one very strong urge: to knit. Preferably right before dusk with some bad reality TV, a warm blanket, chamomile tea, and our fake fireplace (yes, I’d prefer a real one, but that’s another post). Knitting is a newer thing for me, I started while on bed rest waiting for Birdie (and her first year’s wardrobe rocked because of it). Now, post-kid, of course there’s very little time for knitting. But still. If you gave me a kit and a deadline, I’d find a way.

Enter Danger Crafts. All of Rebecca Danger’s patterns are mod and sweet and funny. There are lots of cute animals, but let’s showcase the monsters for you today. Not only are there patterns, she wisely offers up some perfect kits.Because I’m a designer and all-around creative type everywhere else, I like my knitting to be straightforward and hand-oriented (ie, low on brain power). So Danger Craft Monster Knitting Kits are just about perfect. Now if someone can just give me the gift of time, I’ll knit up a dozen or so.

High Above: Quincy Quade Quentin PDF Knitting Pattern, $6
Above: Daphne & Delilah Momma & Baby Monster PDF Knitting Patterns, $6
Below: Frances the Charismatic Monster PDF Knitting Pattern, $6

She also sells finished stuffed monsters and sewing patterns via the DC Sewing Shop, and there are free patterns and general goodness over at Rebecca Danger’s Blog.

Sidenote, I’m suddenly considering changing my last name to Danger.

They’re all so cute – I’m not sure I could choose just one! Luckily she sells packs of 5 patterns too!

I have a yet to be used sewing machine in the box room upstairs. I think it’s definitely time for some unused knitting patterns and needles. Gift of time and sleeping baby definitely required asap for me too please!

I think we’re living the same wanna-be-crafting lifestyle! I have a sewing machine that’s been used twice. Each time was for about 5 minutes, and turned out badly. Not a good track record. But there’s just. no. time.
