Maileg Large Printed tin Egg with Bunny Illustration for Easter

Obviously plastic eggs are the old school choice – and they bring back fond memories for alot of us! But I’ve noticed there are some beautiful alternative egg options. Particularly if you don’t intend to hide 50 eggs around your yard – which definitely sounds appealing. Maybe we just need 10 eggs strategically placed indoors. That’s might be the best answer here in the wild north, where we just had 2 inches of snow yesterday. Yep. snow on April 16th, peeps. Why the heck do I live here again?

Alright, regardless, take a gander at these options – which is your favorite?

Maileg Large Tin Egg, $10 (Image way above) and  Maileg Easter Egg Deocrations, $6: I bought one of the large eggs because it’s both timeless and mod with those adorable illustrations. We also bought a little Maileg bunny to put inside, similar to this Maileg Bunny (but a  different dress!)

Hollow Wooden Egg, $3.50: I seriously want to buy a dozen of these, decorate them myself, and use them every year. Blank wood makes me itchy.

Blank Wooden Nesting Eggs, $24.50: Not as much room for your candy treasures, but lots of room for some creative ideas. Birdie and I both love nesting creatures – and I think most kids would agree with us!

Felted Wool Empty Eggs, 4 for $26: Like the wooden eggs, these are truly timeless and can be used year after year. Plus, I love the colors!

Felted Wool Egg with Play Silk, $24: I love play silks – open ended, soft, and ready for kids imaginations (they’re a simple square silk scarf, but lovely, I promise you). This way you get the egg and the gift all in one.

Felted Wool Egg with Play Silk and Felted Animal, $24.50: I know, I seem to have a thing for these wool eggs! But the little woolen hedgehog in the middle has stolen my heart.

And, to be true to the nature of eggs, how about these suh-weet woolen chicks inside one of them?  (They’ll probably fit best in the large Maileg tin egg at the top of the list!)

Oh – and take a look at all the amazing video submissions for the new Hopscout Editor Contest, called the Stay at Home Millionaire. I’ll start you off by looking at my entry, feel free to vote for me!
