There are products that just floor with me, and today I get to feature one of those companies: Wishbone Design. Have you heard of balance bikes yet? They’re this generation’s answer to training wheels. A balance bike is a small pedal-less bike that helps young kids learn to balance on two wheels before graduating to a regular bike. It’s all very practical and logical. But what gets me is watching the videos of these things – suddenly I want one too. Every kid I see on a balance bike looks like joy on wheels! It’s like watching real live Flintstones feet breezing by!

There are lots of balance bike options out on the market. So why do Wishbone Balance Bikes get my top vote? A combination of functionality and design. (Always the best combination, right?) Yes, there are cheaper balance bikes available, but if you’re looking for something that will last you from age 1 on up, the $229 – $249 is completely logical.
