a dose of fairy charm

Lori Marie Handmade to order felt fabric flower and feather headband crowns

We had a lovely – though rather warm – afternoon at our local Renaissance Festival this weekend. My oldest nephew even found the King and became a knight! Oh Sir Pierce, in your glistening paper crown, you are so worthy. Meanwhile, Birdie managed to get dirtier than all three of her cousins (all boys, mind you) which proves to me that she does indeed have a little tomboy in her.

I also suggested she might want one of the many flowery garlandy heabandy crowns with trailing ribbons and a healthy dose of glitter being sold at several stalls. But she just kept saying no. Secretly, I’m a little glad of that fact. Partly because I’d seen some amazeballs options elsewhere. These feather crowns and flower crowns, $35 – 58, from Lori Marie kept circling round in my head. I like these better, and I know you will too.

Lori Marie’s crowns are are custom made to order, so there’s a bit of a wait, but I think it might just be worth it. They’re obviously so well crafted you’ll have them for years. She also creates some very boho fairy-in-the-secret-but-modern-garden dolls, too. This pair, Rosalee and Coral, are known as the Boho Beauties, $135.

Ok first of all, best word of the week “amazballs” love it! :)
Those felt fairy/flowery crowns are gorgeous! I think Birdie definitely has a bit of Tomboy in her (perhaps it’s from hanging with some of the coolest boys in town? hee hee). Looking forwart to going to Ren Fest this coming weekend, bracing myself as I know my little guy is going to be like Pigpen once we leave…. ugh. Well hopefully he has a lot of fun while running his fingers through the dirt (like last night at the Walker Sculpture Garden… ay yai yai).

Maybe Ayumi needs a crown for her first birthday!
Be prepared for dust at the Ren Fest, the lack of recent rain made us all filthy, but Birdie kept playing in the fountains and then lying on the ground!
