Hell yes, it’s Friday. Thank the gods above it’s Friday. It’s been one of those weeks, where, among several other frustrating things, I caught a cold with a cough so impossible that I pulled several muscles along my side. Can’t sit, stand, or, erm, breath, without being completely exasperated by it (let alone cough!). People! This is the downside of preschool! So far Birdie isn’t sick at all, of course, which made the week just a tad more trying. The highlight of the week was definitely last night. My husband was showing Birdie his strange magical powers: chanting Dissappearo and Reappearo spells with a chopstick wand, her lovey, and a favorite little toy. She then tried it herself and accidentally managed to make the toy disappear as well. OH my stars the look of utter amazement on her face – we were laughing our heads off. Let’s hope there’s many more moments of magic coming our way – to make up for the colds.
this week’s best picks for your weekend:
- (image above) Make sure you stop by Petit a Petit and Family for the best round up of inspiration Halloween costume ideas I’ve seen. She’s pulled the best photography spreads from all of our favorite online magazines. Brilliant idea!
- Adorable wooden playsets are a passion of mine, and this simple set from Tulp Kids fits the bill, found via Lil’ Magoolie.
- If you’ve already downloaded my elephant and rabbit masks, and need more Halloween printables, then I’d recommend the adorable Halloween Paper Doll Printables from Babalisme, via Cool Mom Picks.
- For some last minute Halloween gifts, try some books from Chronicle books, just enter the code “Halloween” at checkout for 30% off, offer good through October 31st. (and it appears to be good for non-Halloween finds too!).
- LOVE this adorable DIY Creepy Face Changer from Bloesem Kids. Find a good front-facing photo of your kid and turn it into a giggles-inducing surprise googly-eyed mask. hehehe.
- Sometimes cliches are a drag, but I am liking the simple graphic delivery of Gandhi’s “fundamentals for changing the world” by Francesca Ramos, found via How About Orange.
- Made by Joel is like a personal hero of mine, and his adorable robot leg costume components are simple and fun – perfect for year round. Found via etsy.
