Easy Homemade Handmade Halloween Costume Toddler Girls Black Cat

Phew! I did it! A costume in a day! I’d like to thank American Apparel for their awesome super shiny leggings, black capelet, and basic black leotard (there is nothing cuter than a little girl in a leotard, nothing). Having those basics let me focus on creating her furry tail/belt, legwarmers, and ears. I’m just proud the sewing machine worked, and everything fits, mostly. But the best part: she loves it, because she was determined to be her favorite stuffed animal, her black cat named Mo the Kitty.

If anyone needs some last-minute Halloween costume ideas, I’d check out American Apparel’s photos – so many of them could be made with the same apparel staples you may already have in your own closet. (and I love the illustrations overlaid on the images, great idea).

What will you be for Halloween? And your kidlets? Share with us, oh please!

OK, we are TOTALLY going to do the flamenco dancer with the guitar player/Spaniard idea!!! When the kids are a bit older, this looks so fun!! I love Birdie’s costume, it’s absolutely purrrrfect. ;)

Thanks Sam! Boy, your kiddos would be adorable as the flamenco pair! I think I’ve got a spare tutu you can borrow as well ;)

I am just in love with that Flamenco pair, I can see my little guy with a pencil think mustache drawn on and my little girl with a big red rose tucked behind her ear… and one of those adorable tiny Mexican guitars…. ah one can dream? Great post Mari! Of course now we all want to see the pictures of Birdie trick or treating with her little black lovey too soon after!! Gosh her hair is SO long!!
