Top Father's Day unique gift ideas from the kids

Father’s Day is coming soon! And, as always, I’m a little stumped for ideas. Hey Men, you are hard to shop for! Though I’m brainstorming ideas for some handmade gifts from Birdie to her daddy, I think I’ve also found some fun and unique ideas for store-bought gifts too. It’s so wonderful when a gift from kids to their parents helps the two of them do something together, like these great finds:

Wood Voice Record, $48 – Record 30 seconds of your voice, then adjust the pitch for lots of giggles and playtime … I keep hearing “Luke, I am your father!”
Secret Message Writing Set, $10 – Can you imagine the hilarious super secret spy messages that will occur between father and kiddos? They could even write his Father’s Day card in top secret invisible scribbles.
Who’s Your Daddy? Doll, $32 – Ok, it’s not quite the custom action figure of your own personal hero (ie, dad) but it IS a great toy for kids, less creepy, and more affordable to. Customize it with all those little features that make Dad so special, then watch him melt when your kids hug it tight (as long as they still hug him too!)
#1 Dad Trophy, $15 – I’ve been searching for an old vintage trophy to upcycle for the occasion, but all I’ve found around here are old women’s bowling trophies! This kitschy #1 Dad Trophy will be perfect on his desk at work. Or the mantel at home.

But what about some big boy gifts? I can’t help but love these quirky takes on Father’s Day gifts. Geeky, unique, and a little bit retro mod.

Wood Tie, $39.99 – This has got to be the coolest tie I’ve ever seen. Flexibly made of several joined pieces, and available in striped or solid wood, I can see my geek-cool husband rocking this at work, and soaking up the office commentary surrounding it.
GPS Lattitude Longitude Custom Bracelet, $54 – Pick your location – baby’s birthplace, first date, wedding, hometown, etc. – and gather up those numbers for a secretly sentimental piece of modern jewelry. Maybe I need one of my own …
Lomokino Movie Maker and Viewer Set, $99 – Got an aspiring Photog? This crank-up video camera uses 35mm film (remember film? How very retro) to make beautifully touching videos with a stop-motion feeling to them. This looks like a gadget that would keep everyone fascinated for months. Watch some sample videos at this Lomokino website.
Wood Tool Set, $95 – Your modern handyman needs this basic tool set – it has everything you need to keep the inside basiscs at your house in working order. It may not be the set to finish your basement, but it’s beauty is in it’s smaller job practicality.

Lovely and fresh Father’s Day gift ideas!
I particularly love that GPS Lattitude Longitude Custom Bracelet!
Much better than the usual ties and soap-on-a-rope we would get for my dad. :)

Wishing you all the best,
Mary (from BYW 2.0)

I included that Lomokino partially just for me – it looks like such a fun “toy”. If you get it, let me know how you like it!
I hope all is well in Wisconsin-land :)

Currently it looks like Expression Engine is the preferred blogging platform out there right now.
(from what I’ve read) Is that what you’re using on
your blog?

Nope, I’m using Thesis on self-hosted Wordpress. Thanks!
