experiencing something new: part 2

Alt Summit 2013 and HP Experience Boards - Mari Richards of Small for Big

Attending Alt Summit last week was all kinds of amazing. It was full of firsts for me too. My first time in Utah, my first blog conference, and my first time as an official brand ambassador. Luckily HP made that part of my trip easy peasy lemon squeezy! One of the highlights was wandering towards the first session on Thursday morning and suddenly running into my experience board standing big and bold in the HP sponsored lounge area. They had a sweet twitter party later that day (partially thanks to the pretty candies up for grabs), a photo booth with some of my favorite props (skiing, anyone?), and cupcakes to top it off. Plus, I finally had the chance to learn more about the other bloggers involved: Chelsea Costa of Lovely Indeed, Melissa Bahen of Lulu the BakerBrittni Mehlhoff of Paper & StitchJenny Batt of Hank and Hunt, and Amanda Brown of Spruce.

Preparing for Alt Summit was a madhouse of last-minute designing, researching, and blogging. HP’s SpectreOne was a brand new shiny piece of awesome helping me along the way. I’m inspired by the objects around me, and the sleek design of this computer helped keep me sleek and calm on the inside too, no kidding. It’s so much better than a loud desktop tower and several annoying cords getting tangled up with my papers, pencils, and notebooks. I also really enjoyed using the separate trackpad that comes with the HP SpectreOne. It’s like a hybrid of an iPad, laptop trackpad, and your desktop all in one. Sometimes finger gestures are better than a mouse, and this trackpad gives you that option whenever you need it.

Next week I’ll share some of the individual images of my experience board I created – I can’t wait to give some of the backstory to the images and why I chose them. In the meantime, enjoy these shots from Alt Summit – most of these images are thanks to Alt Summit and HP’s wonderful flickr feeds (the blurry one, is, heh, mine!)

This review is part of a brand ambassador program through HP, for which I received the HP SpectreONE AiO and other products as a thank you   for my participation. All opinions are, of course, my own. Thanks HP!
