It is the epitome of summer right now. The leaves are full and rustling in the breeze, the grass is lush and green (and requires way too much mowing), the flowers are blooming big and bold, and the sun is blazing down warming me to the core. It’s been a fabulous week of small summer things: sitting in the yard watching honey bees (and trying to remain calm for Birdie’s sake), playing with the neighbors in their blow-up pool, squirt guns, mud soup with pine needle garnish, and some bike riding and ball kicking for good measure. By the end of the week, I’m feeling like a good mom simply because Birdie did all those little summertime things she should do. Summertime is easy for moms. I could do this way past August.
