by mari

Top links online this week include: custom oxford shoes, paintings and collage, paper bag puppets, death star pillow, watermelon ice pops, free printable posters

How was your week? Every May the inevitable happens: schedules fill up. Suddenly weekends are filled with plant sales and dance recitals and craft sales and other Spring extravaganzas. It’s like every organization that ever was wants to celebrate Spring with their Annual Hootenanny. I’m not complaining, because I love a good shindig (and suddenly it’s like I’m writing from the Wild Wild West, pardon me!). I definitely look forward to Spring and all of its activities. But man, we have a whirlwind weekend ahead of us, and the weekends continue that way for some time. Welcome to Spring and Summer in the midwest: where we make up for Winter all Summer long.

Round about the internet this week:

As for making ART, just do it! GOD only knows how inspired I get from a lot of your blog posts! I suggest dedicate 1 hr, take a pile of collected papers & shapes and just play around with re assembling and see were it Leeds you.

Thanks Walter, you’re right, I think a daily practice would be the best way to find my way back into it!

I think so, 5 years ago I was stuck in the Dental Insurance corporate world, YUCK! Enrolled in some evening Art classes at RISD, re worked my portfolio . Each month I challenged my self to a greater ART task, opened and Etsy shop, sent out submissions to publishers, dabbled in the Craft world and then it just happened. Now, I find myself overwhelmed with too many ideas and countless unfinished art pieces… LOL! But, it is all good. This is what I always wanted:)
