Craft Kits for Kids - Wood Stitchables Lacing projects from Handmade Charlotte and Plaid

After only a handful of summer vacation days, Birdie and I are still trying to figure out some sort of summer way of being. She wants to go places constantly, or have constant playdates. While I, on the other hand, would prefer some semblance of my own childhood: when days were endless and we played outside until dusk. At least, that’s how I remember it! Neither one of those options is possible, so I’m trying to find some sort of middle ground. I’m beginning to think craft projects will be the way to break up our days. We could play outside for a couple of hours, come in to recharge, snack, make something, then go back out for round 2/3/4.  So now I need to start stocking up on ideas and materials. handmadecharlotte-woodstitchables2 Though I’m a big fan of open-ended art time, Birdie loves a well-directed project with a clear outcome. So these adorable Wood Stitchables kits from Handmade Charlotte (isn’t Rachel amazing?! She’s designing and selling CRAFT KITS! I love her.) are now on my must-have list. At $4.99 each, we can afford to have a couple of these sewing projects stacked up in a closet just waiting for the right opportunity throughout the summer. Plus, they’re cute enough that when she’s done, I’m happy to display them wherever Birdie’s little heart desires.
