put a badge on it

Twenty Fingers wooden badges and outdoors gifts

I think my favorite part of my short-lived stint in the Girl Scouts was the badges. Perfect little icons, all sewn in a row. Collecting them was addictive, and there were certain ones that were so much cuter and prettier than others that I wanted them the most – even if I didn’t like the activity associated with them!

Well, luckily I’ve found these wooden badges from Twenty Fingers that are all so cute I won’t have to quietly shove the ugly ones to the side. I love the idea of keeping some of these on-hand for those moments in Birdie’s life when she could use a little badge of honor. You know, getting through that swim class that makes her so nervous, making her bed every day for a week, or maybe just being strong when that 1st graders tells her they’re no longer secret best friends. I know it’s not good to reward kids with things, but I think random moments of sweetness like these make childhood that much more magical. The trick will be fitting the badge to the activity!
