timeless summer evenings with your girls

Lavender Avenue Nightgowns - Classic Handmade pajamas - Cotton Girls Nightgowns | Small for Big

For the most part, we always went with the cheap pajamas from Target. I suppose the habit starts at birth, when Birdie needed several sets to get through diapers, potty training, the flu, etc. Kids and pajamas are a tough partnership in the early years.

Birdie is now 6, but we never really changed our ways, but then suddenly I realized we could. Because really, kids spend a ton of time in pajamas. Not only every night, but around our house, half the weekend as well! So they should be made well,  nice to look at, long lasting, and something Birdie loves to wear.

Which is exactly what I’ve found in Lavender Avenue. Handmade in New Zealand, these are the long, ruffly nightgowns that feel a little bit like Laura Ingalls, and a lot like the perfect twirly, girly, not-covered-in-My-Little-Pony pajama of choice. Made from 100% cotton in colors or white, with serged edges, each one will last for a good long while, growing with your girl. There are several styles to choose from, even some adorable shirts with bloomers too, if long nightgowns feel to cumbersome!

Now, my only question, will Birdie’s long nighgown hold up through pajama day at school on Friday? Fingers crossed, because she’s refusing to wear anything else!

A big thanks to Lavender Avenue for providing nightgowns for this review. As always, all opinions are my own.

How lovely. When my girls are older I’m so going to buy some lovely little gowns.

They make bedtime just a little bit magical, in my opinion!
