Captain Toto Stickers - Sticker Subscription for Kids - Travel Activities for Kids | Small for Big

Travelling the world isn’t really an easy thing to do for most families. It certainly isn’t an option for us right now. Birdie, of course, knows how to make me feel extra guilty. She has asked many times “When can I go to China?”. Or Japan, Egypt, Paris, and other far-flung locales.

Don’t you wish we could indulge our kids – and heck, ourselves – with big epic world-wide adventures? Well, until we all win the lottery (and you’ll share with me, right?!) let’s try something a little more approachable. Captain Toto is an affordable way to bring a bit of the world to you every month. You’ll receive a 3 page letter with information and activities, and 3 pages of stickers to work with. Each month features a different location.

We all love snail mail – Birdie loves it so much she’s in charge of bringing the mail in every day after school! Finding a surprise in the mailbox just for her is always something special. So, signing up for a monthly subscription to Captain Toto seems like a no-brainer. Especially with summer vacation coming – we all need some distractions, am I right?!

Looks like a fun way to learn about the world. But for some of us even the $8 per month is hard to deduct from our necessities budget…I go back a-ways, And i really miss downtowns with city blocks and blocks of off street stores, walk in from the side walk, shops, restaurants and multi story department stores. Now our main-streets and downtowns are like ghost towns. Malls are nice when the weather is bad though. But now where i live even too many mall stores are empty. Now it is the interstate exit developments of “big box” stores are killing off malls. I hope and pray for the days when we go back to self sufficient neighbor hoods where our necessities like groceries are within walking distance, more extensive bus routes where we leave are cars at home and go downtown and mix with the cross section of humanity.

I wish neighborhoods were more walkable too.
