Teachers do so much – and though I knew that as a former student and a college professor myself, I didn’t really understand the gravity of that statement until my own daughter started school. Those teachers are everything! I’m still waiting for the day when the world wakes up and the teachers and the professional football players switch salaries.
In the meantime, we have great companies like thredUP helping to do what we can to support the people that mean so much to us and our kids. Fashion resale site thredUP.com has partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to recognize and thank teachers for their hard work and the positive impact they make each day on our children’s lives. It’s easy to nominate your favorite teacher right here!
Plus thredUP is a great resource for back to school shopping! Upcycling and recycling is a great way to reduce our consumption and keep things out of landfills. Plus, kids go through clothes so fast – either growing out of them or putting holes in them – that I hate spending too much on the clothes in the first place. ThredUP helps resell the good clothes without the holes and provides a great place to sell your gently used clothes, or purchase clothes for you and your family too.
I’m planning on doing some back to school shopping for Birdie at thredUP, but I also just found a Rachel Comey dress for me at a total steal! And it fits perfectly. The shipping is free, and as soon as I find time to clean out my closet I can send my own clothes to them for free as well, and get a little spending cash when they sell. What a win-win for everyone.
Read the inspiring nominations and watch an adorable video of kids thanking teachers, plus find new survey data from AdoptAClassroom.org at thredUP.com/Teachers.
