round about: balloon numbers and veggie fathers day

This week's top links include Father's Day DIY, Summer Tote DIY, Miniature Collage Art, Giant Balloon Numbers.

A very interesting thing has happened at our house amidst the start of summer vacation. Somehow, my sweet Birdie has decided she wants to try “homeschool” all summer long. Now. I am not cut out to be an official Home School Parent. I love teaching, it’s in my genes and in my background: I taught college students for years. But my teacher’s patience is much more of an adult-learner level, not the patience of a saint. Anyway, to honor Birdie’s request, I’m giving her the leeway to pick subjects to read about, research, and create reports or crafts in response to the topic. At least, that was how Day 1 went – and for your information, the theme yesterday was robotic dogs. No, I don’t know where she gets it. And yes, I love her to pieces! We’ll just see how long this summer home school fascination really lasts. I wouldn’t place any bets.
