We were wandering through one of our favorite bookstore slash yarn shops this weekend. Birdie had found the fairy books and was asking to buy several, my husband was looking at brewing books, and suddenly, amidst the Egyptology and Dragonology books I found this gem.
The Lost Files of Nancy Drew is one of those heavy, over-sized books full of hidden flaps, faux letters, and ephemera related just to her. Each spread focuses on one of the mysteries she’s solved, with “behind-the-scenes”details and notes on the how, the why, etc. It’s a gorgeous book, and a fun departure from the mythical books in the series (though we absolutely love the Egyptology: Search for the Tomb of Osiris book!). It makes me want to go back and read every single one of those mysteries from my childhood. I can still remember the bookshelf in the library where they all lived in my small hometown!
