Mid-Century Modern is making a comeback in a big way, it’s everywhere. Particularly in home decor (take a look at my house!) and in higher end designs/prints/textiles. I really enjoy seeing it’s return in children’s products – it’s the nostalgia of my own childhood. I know a lot of things is a reissued classic by Ann and Paul Rand. Paul Rand completed several books in the 60’s, and all of them exude that flat graphic style. The book’s look and narration don’t include that post-modern veneer of sophistication we have now, yet the illustrations provide lots of smart imagery.
But really, it’s just sweet and honest.
modernism continues
