Kamibashi String Dolls and Freak-o-bag giveaway

It’s my birthday this week and I thought the best way I could celebrate with you was to bring gifts! And what better gift than the products from Kamibashi. Kristen and Chris are running a little company that features the original designs of several artists – mostly from Thailand and Japan. It’s a company that promotes fair trade and the unique visions of individual artisans. The results? Products you wouldn’t find anywhere else, which are my very favorite kinds of things. They started with the String Doll Gang – a huge selection of individual keychain characters – each is individually name and with a particular power. These days they’ve expanded to include new keychain themes like the Koonin Family Pets (see that cat above? squeal!).  And I could use one of each of the reusable tote bags disguised as crazy creatures – the Freak-O-Bags, to carry around all of Birdie’s things.

Kamibashi is generously giving one lucky Small for Big reader a collection of 3 prizes: one Koonin Family Pet (left), one Freak-O-Bag (center) and one String Gang Doll (right) worth a total of $35. The best part? You get to choose which styles you want – and there are legions to browse through.

Someone got me a string doll gang member for my birthday a couple years ago. They’re pretty cute! Happy happy birthday Mari and a good way to spend it? How about a long massage at the spa and then a dinner with the hubby at your favourite non-kid restaurant?

Hmm, best birthday ideas? A trip in a time machine to the pre-kid days when staying out all night was possible and desirable? Alternatively, dinner somewhere like WA Frost’s? Happy Birthday xxx

I turned 30 this year and had 2 parties! On one I had a “girls” night where we had deliciously bad food, lots of yummy drinks, and a ton of laughs! For the other party my Dad and I combined our birthdays and had a 90 Years of Life party with family and friends! Both were wonderful nights that I didn’t want to end!! Happy Birthday!

I love spending my birthday with my hubby and kids. Hubby always cooks a special dinner. Its the one day a year he cooks (well, if you don’t count grilling). He can really cook when he wants too!

My favorite thing to do on my birthday is to eat cake. It’s the one day I can be a complete glutton and not feel guilty. I may or may not have a slight cake addiction :)

Mari, I just turned 35 too – what a milestone birthday. While I always think of how Mary Griep would recommend drawing a self-portrait every b-day, my favorite is NOT GETTING UP WITH THE KIDS. Then maybe a family picnic at one of you 10,000 lakes, if the weather is cooperative. I know it’s belated, but I hope it was a nice one!

For my birthday I don’t usually do a whole lot, but I’m usually happy as long as I’m not sitting at home. So we usually do something like to bowling, put-put golfing, to a movie and dinner, or something like that. :)

My favorite thing to do on my birthday is to CHILL on my own for a bit, then get together with a few close friends for a beer somewhere. I made the mistake of doing a bar crawl in Mexico on my 30th – NEVER again. :)

these are so cool! My tip: start the day by going out to eat a healthy wholesome breakfast at a favorite restaurant. It gets the day off to a great start- no worrying about making breakfast, dishes, cleanup, and the rest of the day you’ll have energy to do all the great things you want to do.
