Modern Leaf Swing by Alberto Sanchez

Let’s see, what happened this week? I think the biggest recurring theme was my inability to remember which day was which. Our fourth of July continued through Monday, so every day afterwards felt wrong. It was like I was trying to wear someone else’s clothes – if only they’d been expensive and well-tailored. Plus, my freelance work is kicking my rear end all the way to Sunday. So. Instead of whining, let’s move straight to some of my picks for the week:

  • (image above) All I’m dreaming about is a finished, beautiful, green backyard without looming deadlines and a big swing just for me. The leaf swing by Alberto Sanchez would be a good start. Found via Yatzer.
  • I’m really not into quotes all that much, but Phyllis Diller’s is summing it up perfectly this week:“Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.” (I also love her ability to rhyme). via Parents.
  • Target is featuring (from July through October) a small line of all organic baby clothing called The Little Seed. The classic styling and low prices are nice – but it’s the richly bright colors that make me happy. (I’m so tired of eco sage green)
  • Babble has a list of the top 50 iPhone apps for Parents. I think several are missing (we’ll save that for a later post), but there’s some goodies in here too – I’ll be checking out the apps Mom Maps and Better Gift Lists.
  • This article tells us that just owning books makes your kids smarter. Which makes me less annoyed when Birdie pulls them all out of the bookshelves, again. Thanks to Chris – our new Small for Big Contributor – for forwarding this to me. Stay tuned for his future posts!
