I love stumbling onto someone who’s not just making toys, but someone who’s dreaming up fancy little creatures with stories and mythologies all their own. Someone who admits that she’s a full-time softie maker. Yeah, that’s the stuff. It’s the thing that’s been lost on my end of toy design – where I have to worry more about production costs, market trends, the cute factor, play patterns, and my hourly rate. Maybe one day I’ll swing on over to the cooler side where Ninon works. Based in Berlin, Ninon makes folksy one of a kind creatures like these hilarious Rad Radetskies that are part doll, part monster, and part friend. I think it’s a perfect combination, and so does Barney P. Dustshelves as you can see from his very satisfied expression below.
