prepping for the big show – what to wear?!

Guess what?! I’m going to Vegas Baby!

Which would be more fabulous if I liked to drink, or gamble, or stay up until 3 am. I guess it’s a good thing I’m going to attend the ABC Kids Expo, or my intentions would be pretty flimsy. I have several reasons to go. I’m an indepedent toy designer – these big shows are a place to network, meet with clients, and check out the trends. I’m a blogger (Did you know?! Isn’t it cool? Tell your friends!) and it’s great to see what’s new for my readers. I’m hoping to lay the groundwork for lots of future posts – especially for the holidays! But, what finally convinced me to go was my good friend Helen. Helen owns numsi, and will be there as an exhibitor.  Having a partner in crime is invaluable, and I’m glad I can help her out a little too. (Helen, you’re scheduled bathroom breaks will be at 10:30 and 3:00)

And, Small for Big will be blogging live from the show October 10, 11, 12, and 13. It’s going to be a crazy party around here!

While I prep for the show this week (emails and biz cards and appointments, oh my!), I thought it’d be good to feature some recent kids design finds that won’t be at the show. Let’s start with the modern kids clothes from Mani-Mina. There are lots of pdf patterns for sale, but also some adorable finished clothes. And the prices are so low we should almost tell her to raise them – just a smidge. I’m gaga for this kids kimono dress – and the hat, pants, and tunics in her etsy shop. Plus, her little model reminds me so much of our playdate pal’s (Hi Pascale!) future self, it’s uncanny!
