Handmade Embroidered Brooch with Smiling Face from Designed By Jane

It’s been a banner week here at Small for Big. I’m feeling extra special and very official. Yes, I’ve “babbled” your ear off about this already, but in case you’ve been away from your computer this week – Babble.com listed SmallforBig in their Top 50 Design Blogs for Moms. I swooned. I reread it twice, and double-checked the link. Of course I always hoped I was worthy of that title, but to actually find myself among so many great blogs that I love so much has made me very very happy. So that was more than enough to keep me going strong. But  I’ve also been prepping for the ABC Kids Expo by wading through lots of email requests from exhibitors to stop by their booths. The chance to talk directly with some of my favorite companies is going to be a blast.

So please remember to stop back here starting Sunday for my live blog updates from the show – I’ll be highlighting my favorite finds of new products as quickly as I can get them written!

Here’s this week’s link round up to keep you occupied until then:

  • (image above) This is perhaps the happiest brooch (way beyond your usual yellow face) I’ve come across. From Designed by Jane via Where the Lovely Things Are.
  • An adorable little gathering of Handmade Plush Toy Picks from PetitEcoKids has me saying aaaaaaaw.
  • This is a little disheartening, but would you like to know why you don’t hear what your kids are hearing? Test your ears with these various audio tones and be humbled by the aging process. via Buy Modern Baby’s Tweet.
  • I keep meaning to make some downloadables for you, my wonderful readers. But since life keeps rearing it’s head, I’ll send you to these Colouring Pages from Style Me Gorgeous.
  • Some very artistic Stainless Steel Mobiles that may just be too cool for your kids’ room. I take that back, they’re so cool they belong in your kids room! via Cool Mom Picks.
  • This article on tweens and their individualized sense of tween fashion is giving me a fascinating glimpse into my future life with a tween girl. I’m a little concerned.
