tiptoeing through the fall forest

Minnetonka Moccassins Toddler Fringed Tramper Leather Boot

Sometimes being a cool, hipster, funky mom has it’s drawbacks. Wait, let me rephrase that. Sometimes aspiring to be a cool, hipster, funky mom has it’s drawbacks! There’s always a new book, object, dress, or toy for Birdie (or for me) that I find myself obsessed with. Right now it appears to be Minnetonka Toddler Tramper Boots.

Yeah, moccasins are having a bit of a moment right now in modern fashion (I’m also in love with the grey fringed boots for women at J.Crew). But as a little kid who spent every summer road-tripping with my little family through South Dakota (home of the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, and a bevy of tourist shops with leather goods), Wyoming, and Colorado (ditto the last parenthetical)  Minnetonka Moccasins are a bit of my heritage. Not to mention they’re actually based here in Minneapolis. Don’t they seem like the perfect shoe for tiptoeing through the fallen leaves?

And yet, we do not own a pair of these ToddlerTramper Boots for Birdie. Because I was too obsessed with buying Livie & Luca shoes and boots during a sales spree at HauteLook last spring and we’re set for several months yet! It’s not a bad problem to have, I know, but I need to remind myself that sometimes planning ahead just gets me in trouble. Little Trampers, I will just love you from afar. Sigh.
