Top PIcks from Lucky Kids Magazine First Issue on Newstands now

I have been on my tip toes curious to see the new Lucky Kids magazine ever since I saw Lucky Mag’s advertisement months ago. I always enjoy reading the original (it’s my only fashion mag subscription!). So thank heavens I happened to spot the first issue of Lucky Kids over the weekend! And yep, it’s not bad, not bad at all. Everyone is wondering if it’s a replacement for the defunct Cookie Magazine. Nope, it’s not (no articles, no parenting advice). But it’s still a fun read. The fashion is a little more mainstream than I expected from Lucky, and some of the toys are already veeery familiar to me, but maybe that’s just a sign that I’m already in too deep in the world of kids design! Either way, I did spy some great finds for you (and me!), and thought I’d share. (I’d hoped to tell you how to subscribe as well, but their facebook/twitter response time is still newbie slow!)

  • Designer Lela Rose’s Townhouse feature: Even with a regular old beat up chair (versus her beat up Eames chair), I love the idea of covering all the imperfections with a TON of rubber bands (image thanks to Dwellers without Decorators). I’ve been eyeing that same Anthropologie pompom rug too!
  • Atsuyo Et Akiko Angel Wings ($40): Because I’m a sucker for wings, you?
  • The h-luv cloud mobile ($48) is just too too sweet.
  • An online boutique stocked with European finds that ships to my US door for around $11? Zèbre à Pois is my newest friend. I can’t wait to share some finds with you.
  • Malleg of Denmark’s adorable stuffed bunnies are, well, adorable. So much so that I’ve already bought one for Birdie’s Easter basket – and didn’t have time to tell you yet!
  • The image above doesn’t really do it justice, but I’d love to hang some of Birdie’s genius drawings and paintings by printing them on the backside of glass (they claim it’s the “flatscreen” of picture frames?), using Fracture’s very affordable framing services.

Also, the magazine share some amazing deals and giveaway opportunities over on the Lucky Kids website. Enjoy with me!
