it’s good to see yourself: carolee beckham photography

Well hello there! That’s me, above and below! I can’t believe how easy it is to share these photos with you. It turns out it’s easy when I’m so over the moon happy with them. Alt Summit always turns up the most unexpected opportunities, and this year my favorite connection has to be Carolee Beckham Photography.

Considering I’m based in Minnesota, and Carolee is in Utah, the only way we could have met was through an outside force. Carolee schedules photo shoots – including your own hair and makeup stylist –  to coincide with the dates of Alt Summit’s annual conference, and I’m telling you, you’ve got to do this for yourself.

First of all, I love her photographic style. She has an artist’s approach: beautiful lighting, complex compositions, and none of the frou frou props or poses that can come with more commercial photography. Nope, these photos are both beautiful and Real with a capital R.

Secondly, Carolee has this easy, quiet presence that totally put me at ease the moment she pulled out her two cameras – one digital, one film. (She still uses film, people! That is unusual and wonderful!) She suggests adjustments and poses when necessary, but she also has an unerring sense of when to let you, the subject, just go with it. In the end, the combination produced some of the best photos of me that I have ever had in my entire life.

I’m now addicted, I hope to go back next year, if she’ll have me. And the best news for Alt Summit attendees – Carolee is doing sessions for Alt Summit’s brand new summer conference too! (And if you have the guts for it, her intimates sessions may be the most stunning, artistic, and high-end sexy images I have ever laid my eyes on).
