I wasn’t even looking at the toys, I swear I’d just used a random aisle at Target as a shortcut to my real destination (the Christmas clearance items, ha!) and what did I find?! Wooden Legos.
No, I shouldn’t use the L word, because these Eco Bricks from Once Kids have nothing to do with their more famous cousins, except that they look just. like. them. I saw wooden building bricks a couple of years ago, but kind of assumed they were way too niche to make it into the states. And yet, here is a brand that’s making it happen – and at Target! The only thing I’m unsure of: will they fit with regular Legos or Megablox? I wish I could tell you. Somehow I think they would have yelled at me if I’d ripped open the boxes at Target to check.

This is lovely and perfect for kids !!
Love these wooden “lego” !
I agree – such a nice change from plastic!
Thank you! I completely agree, toys should be toys regardless. Super Girl started out loving everything pink and sparkly – but now she prefers toys that are considered ‘boyish’ but so what – it’s her choice. I find the whole subtext to gender marketing so very interesting and the messages given out to our kids.
How to buy this toy?
What a fantastic exploration into eco-friendly building blocks! It’s inspiring to see sustainable alternatives like Eco-Bricks™ that not only provide endless creative possibilities but also promote environmental consciousness among children. The compatibility with traditional plastic blocks makes the transition seamless for families looking to make greener choices. Kudos to companies like Once Kids for leading the way in sustainable play!
