It’s those last few days before Christmas. It seems a good time to remind ourselves of the alternatives to the crazy store lines, sold-out items (uh, zhu zhu pets?!), and uppity parking spot confrontations. Let’s instead consider some possibilities for nearly free, but very cool, holiday gift options! Today’s pick, Fold School, has been around for awhile. But it’s still on my list of must-haves to make, and oh how cool they are. These cardboard bits of children’s furniture are made from regular old cardboard (might I suggest recycled boxes that your various gifts arrive in?). Stool, chair, or rocker, it’s your pick. (though they do recommend trying to starter sample first) As a minimalist I like them plain, but I can see having a field day – or snow day – with some kids and some crafty doodads.
make it instead
