4000 words? Because a mother can never choose just one photo. These are Birdies second pair of glasses direct from London (it was buy one get one half off day! How could we refuse to get two? Plus, there’s the inevitable maintenance and repairs). And oh my, did you notice the rhinestones (carefully sealed under a clear layer of plastic)?! And the backsides of these are lime green – swoon. You can read more about our glasses saga in this earlier post. These glasses are by Zoobug.

Alix
First off, Alix, I’m so soothed to know you write your blog posts at 11:30 PM as well. It appears to be my “favorite” time to write. (ha, more like the only time!)
Secondly – I love your Modern Kiddo blog too!
Thirdly – To answer your question, Birdie is almost 18 months old – I can hardly believe it.
Hey lady,
Thanks for stopping by our ModernKiddo site today. I really am digging your site. And your little one is so button cute–with or without glasses. As a girl who has been wearing glasses since I was seven years old, I can’t help but smile!
I think my co-writer Alix is gonna hit you up for a Weekly kiddo. Yay! I hope you say yes.
Hey there Dottie!
Love your name, btw. Thanks so much for your sweet accolades, I love hearing it (because us Moms are always too biased to believe it ourselves, right?)
Aaaccckkkk! Wren is 18 MONTHS OLD???
I miss facebook – i have no idea whatsoever what anyone is doing!
P.S. I want glasses direct from London!
18 months in just a couple of days. Stacey, I think you need to return to facebook!
Maybe we should go shopping for British glasses together sometime.
We need to be friends! ;-) We have the same taste in basically everything, our daughters are very close in age, and they both have the same eye problem with the same eye. I came across your blog because I was googling “modern toddler glasses” and this post popped up. I *adore* these glasses and must have them for my daughter! We just found out yesterday that our daughter is farsighted. The same thing happened to her that happened to your birdie. One day she woke up from a nap and I let her watch a show on tv. When the show was over, I looked at her and noticed her left eye was pointed inward toward her nose. It lasted the entire evening/night, but seemed ok in the morning. It didn’t happen all the time, but every so often (mostly when she was tired) it would pop back up. I was worried about it and called the pedi after the first time it happened and she referred us to an ophthalmologist. We finally got in yesterday and he said she is farsighted and needs glasses. So of course, what do I do? Start searching high and low for cute glasses. The doctor recommended the Miraflex brand, but I was not a fan of how they looked and then in my research I found out that you have to use the band that it comes with…I have a feeling that won’t go over well.
All that to say (so sorry this got long), how do you like these glasses now that she has had them for awhile? Also, do they bend behind her ears well enough so that they aren’t falling off every two seconds? I had noticed that a lot of people say that if you don’t go with the glasses that have a band, you should get the “cable temple” (the ones that wrap behind the ears) style. I noticed these don’t do that, so I was wondering how they work for your daughter. I tried to search our area to see if anyone carries these, but I don’t think they do. So I was considering calling the place you got yours from. Sigh…I don’t know. I just wanted to see what you thought of them. All the glasses from this company look fab!
Thank you so much for posting this! Hope to hear from you. Feel free to email me at leahkc at gmail dot com, if you prefer.
Thanks!
Leah
