I have a crush on a little guy known as Talking Carl. Partially because he’s cute and he answers me no matter what I might have to say to him, plus he doesn’t seem to mind if I poke him in the eyeballs for minutes on end (though he will growl a bit). But my crush really began the moment Birdie found him. This guy is BRILLIANT for the under two-year-old crowd. I swear he’ll take whatever mood she’s in and turn her into a goofy-grinned chatterbox. Why? Because he’s programmed to parrot back whatever he hears in his silly little voice, with adorable animated expressions. We can’t enough of him. Now if only I could find an app that would keep Birdie from hitting the home button and shutting him off every 63 seconds. At least when he shuts down he shouts out a hilarious guttural “bye byeeeee”.
Talking Carl was designed by Yann Le Coroller – his website shows some other goodies as well – like this hilarious little game called Cata Gugl. Carl’s parents – a company known as awyse – also provide an app called Talking Talkers that parrots back to you AND sends a video of your messages. But my heart will always belong to Carl. xoxo.
