Handmade Superhero Toddler Costume

Having children makes Halloween so much more fun! Though Birdie decided to channel a more meditative mood for her photo shoot the other day. This is her mentally preparing for a challenging day of saving the world, one nap at a time. And without her armbands, ah well. You can see the full costume here if you missed it last week. I’m only frustrated that I didn’t have more time to do some pre-Halloween prep. I had some great DIY decor ideas that will just have to wait for next year, and the pumpkins still need carving! On the bright side, I can tell you from personal experience that Window Gel Clings (in the shape of bats, stars, and bones) are amazingly addictive for certain little girls aged 22 months old.

This week’s round up focuses on, of course, the pending Halloween holiday!

  • I’m so excited for the new look and focus over at Mom Inc. Daily, and Shinmin’s handmade owl Costume is gorgeous. It’s like Anthropologie meets Little Red Riding Hood as an Owl.
  • Babble.com always shares the best articles from moms with issues that I actually get – like this post on Little Girls and Princess Culture. Where else will you find posts that include words like “deleterious”? Thank you for reminding me I’m smart.
  • Brilliant – and easy - DIY headband masks of all your favorite vintage Star Wars friends. This is a costume I could actually handle making. via Filth Wizardry.
  • The alternative reality where I have time to make my front door look like one of these decorated wonders does not exist, yet. But it’s certainly aspirational. via Ohdeedoh.

Could she look MORE like her daddy? No mistakin’ who she belongs to.

Thanks for checking out the blog, so glad you like it!
I like yours too – especially the post with all the girls boots, I’m a sucker for a little girl in boots and can’t figure out which pair to buy!
