The best thing about teaching this semester is that I’m not teaching on Fridays. So this first week of classes, I feel like my weekend has started already! Bring on a lazy morning and the afternoon play date! Meanwhile, I’ve got lots of top picks to share this week. Everyone was in grand form – so read’em and weep. Or shout in amazement. Maybe add in a little jump for joy for good measure. Whatever makes you happiest!
This week’s picks:
- (Image above) As a designer I think these Rip + Tatter Chairs by Pete Oyler are super innovative, but I’m not sure I’d actually love them in my living room. I think Birdie might spend the entire time carefully peeling off all the layers. What about you, what do you think? Found via inhabitots.
- Oh my goodness! DIY watercolor paints? This could be a great project to do with your older kids, right now I think I’ll stick with homemade playdough (especially since our dear friends gave us a big batch of the good stuff for Birdie’s birthday – thanks again Lora!).
- I’ve been feeling guilty that the extra cold temperatures and extra deep snow is keeping Birdie inside, but then I saw these brilliant indoor ideas for playing with snow. Sometimes it’s the simple things that I totally overlook. Found via Ohdeedoh.
- You’ve seen these amazing handmade Kitty Egg Crayons before – they’re an internet-blog-etsy-sensation. Now you can see how they’re made!
- I may be turning into a closet pompom addict. But this new tutorial for t-shirt pompoms is definitely worth sharing.
- There’s something so simple about this Life Calendar: How Was Your Day? I think it would be a quick way to realize that most days really aren’t that bad in the big scheme of things. At least I hope so. Found via A-List Mom.

Thanks for the links, I can’t wait to check them out! Happy Friday!
Happy Friday to you too Camille – you’ll have to tell me which link was most useful to you!
That life calendar is great. What an easy (and stylish) way to keep things in perspective.
I’m not usually into the overt self-help kind of thing, but this is more my style. Plus, it seems easy to maintain!
