I’ve found the best way to collaborate with a 2 year old is to, well, let her think she’s doing it on her own! Later – usually when she’s asleep – I’ll pilfer her little doodles for my own nefarious devices. When she was younger we’d draw together, but if you’ve been through the “terrific” twos, you can guess how that goes these days. Either way, it’s easy to play Where’s Waldo with kid doodles. You can turn them into faces, cars, dinos, flowers, anything you can think of. Today’s goal was, of course, Valentine’s! I think we’ll be sending these off to the grandparents. What about you?

i love these! i also sometimes take the kid-art and cut it out and paste it on a card. i am now inspired to make some drawings into hearts for valentines day. also love the hand outline. thanks for the ideas and happy valentines day!
Great idea Anna – I love reusing kids’ art in ways that works for them AND for us! Happy Vday!
Smart! and easy. Perfect.
Thanks!
What’s the phrase? Necessity is the mother of invention?
Mari,
I love these. I’ve always been a fan of kids art. Jamie
Thanks Jamie, it’s extra special to hear it from you!
Great free downloads! I recently made a hearts mobile with my kids that I found on the AnnaBean blog. It turned out really well and despite the usual fuss, my kids actually didn’t lose focus midway through and give up =)
Thanks, and thanks for the links!
Great work on the cards. I also found a cool valentines day coloring page at ClassroomArts.com. It’s the only page I found that ties in education with valentines day.
Thanks Jennifer!
i want u to know i stole this idea again and cut out some toddler “art” (made with green fingerpaint) in the shape of a shamrock, glued on a green rhinestone and had a quite nice st patrick’s day card, thanks for the great inspiration!
Great idea Anna – you’ll have to send me pics sometime, I’m dying to see the results!
