Brad Vetter Letterpress Art Print

This happens to me every summer, I love the season so much that I secretly hope it will just quietly go on forever. Certainly long past August 26th. Which means the last week of August is always filled with some mad dashes to do those things I meant to do all summer long, while time moves super double extra fast. Because I don’t teach in the summers, the mad dash in August is twice as painful. Ooph. Classes at MCAD start Monday, and I promise you – particularly any random student who may be reading this – that I will be ready. Just barely. (so we can guess what I’ll be doing this weekend.) On the plus side, part of my first assignment involves tracking down an episode of Project Runway. Life could be worse.

What’s on the docket for your final weekend of August? I hope it’s better than class prep. For your sake.

This week’s top picks online:

  • (image above) Though I don’t particularly love inspirational sayings plastered on my walls, sometimes they really are good reminders. If you read the paragraph above, you can understand why Brad Vetter’s letterpress print, “This is Where I Want to Be”, seems apropos to my weekend. Because, oh yeah, I chose this world and I do love it. Found via DesignWorkLife.
  • Some very sweet printable book plates from Draw! Pilgrim can be downloaded for free over at Lil’ Magoolie. Get your books ready!
  • Little Froglet’s new line of hoodies for kids offer two very practical deets: thumbholes to keep their hands warm this fall, and a high-collared hood to keep necks cozy too. Great practical touches to bring along to school.
  • This week Spearmint Baby took the runaway feathers fashion trend and found the best in kids feather accessories – I love all of it.
  • As a brand new parent of a brand new preschooler, I loved these simple reminders from Parenting.com to build a better parent-teacher relationship. I need all the help I can get!
  • I have a weird fascination with campers, RV’s, and all kinds of small self-contained interiors (dollhouses …). So when I saw this Lego Volkswagen Camper Van, I got a little antsy. I seriously have to wait until October? Found via Handmade Charlotte and FamilyStyle. At least I’ll have time to save up my $120.

Don’t forget this week’s giveaway from Urban Tickle – win a set of 2 custom Super Hero Prints for your boy or girl!
