coolest kid accessories: little purses

Misala Handmade Little Frame Coin Purses on Etsy Bunny, Sheep, whale

I’m in the mood for a little fanciful frippery. Something about our cooler weather – which hit with the flip of September’s switch – has me craving brightly colored bits of fluff. I think it’s a last-ditch effort to cling to summer’s happy colors and slower attitude. Maybe I’ll be ready for cozy fall  trends in another couple of months. One hopes, since I live in Minnesota. In the meantime …

There seems to be something almost universal about a child’s urge to hide things away in pockets, pouches, boxes, bags, and purses. It’s something I’ve never grown out of! If I could, I would stash each of these little clutches and coin purses in my bag. I can come up with excuses and uses for each of them. I mean seriously, you could use one just for hair elastics, the other for your emergency chocolate, a pouch to stash your favorite rocks , maybe a fourth for temporary tattoos. The options are endless.

Way above: Misala Handmade’s collection of Coin Purses, $22.90 – $26.90
Above: Lori Marie’s Nixie Fancy Face, $35

One Little Red Fox Squirrel and Bear Coin Purses, $27.68 & $26.23

Retro Cassette Tape Coin Purse, Perpetual Kid, $4.99

Little Bird Crossover Purse, Cotton Mania, $12.00

There’s something very appealing about their diminutive size – good luck with your design!
