Missoni for Target's favorite pieces for girls

We have had some week. I’ve gone from Missoni turning me into a crazy person in Target to seeing Yo Gabba Gabba Live last night (and seing Birdie’s face slack jawed in amazement!). Now we’re headed out of town for a much anticipated yearly sojourn into the wilds of the Wisconsin North Woods. Mmm, I can smell the pine in the crisp fall air now. Do you have any fall traditions? It’s such a memorable time of the year that I really enjoy the events that are tied to it (apple orchards, fall color trips, pumpkin picking, etc.!) Where are you guys headed this fall?

Link love this week:

  • (image above) Though you may not have realized this until late Tuesday, I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the fiasco. The Missoni launch at Target was just shy of some strange only-in-America catastrophic event (crazed shopers, ebay rushes, empty shelves, downed website). Since we live in MN, where Target is headquartered, I think we had better luck? Whatever the reason, we snagged some goodies without lines or fiascos. Yet I’m still wishing there’d been a little less pink in Missoni’s girls’ clothing collection. Target’s Missoni videos showcase the looks the best – when layered pattern on pattern, it looks pretty awesome.
  • But the things you probably haven’t seen from Missoni at Target? The Missoni baby bedding collections which Esther rounded up over at Buy Modern Baby. They’re really beautiful, but sold out!
  • Now that there’s a little nip in the air, you need new hoodies for playtime. And the ones with the best features are from Little Froglet – extra long cuffs with thumbholes are skater-cool and warmer than your average sleeve, while the the wide-collared hoods provide extra protection from fall winds.
  • There’s a big fat list of educational iPad apps for kids over at Imagination Soup. Some of these I’m saving up for future spending sprees!
  • I know my DIY dream list is already far too long, but this leather birdie fringe purse from A Beautiful Mess is just so dang apropos.
  • Since we’re headed on the road this weekend, I’d love some of these busy bags  if I can find 10 minutes to pull one of them together. It’s a great list of DIY busy bags from Toddler Times over on Babble.com.
  • Hey. Seriously. If you’ve read this far I bet you like what you’re reading, help this blog continue to grow and add your vote: Vote for Small for Big in the Parents Best Blogs Contest. I know you can do it!
