We’ve been hit with a little bit of Olympic fever over here. Partially from watching the competitions at home, but also because Birdie’s Montessori summer camp was all about the Olympics this week! She came home today with a glittery handmade silver medal, a T-shirt with craftily colored Olympic rings on it, and even a tissue paper Olympic torch! Let the games begin! Or end, as we have only 3 days left. Still, it’s been fun to get involved in the hoopla together. How have you been enjoying the Olympics with your kids?

This week round about the internet:

  • Dwell just highlighted marimekko’s memory/matching game, and now I’m drooling. Just what we need, another memory game – but it’s so purty!
  •  My fingers are itchy to play with these cool buildable animal Chimeras designed by Walrus Toys. Stop by Inhabitots to learn more, then support them on Kickstarter.
  • Birdie is obsessed with birthdays lately – and hers is still 6 months away. Maybe a DIY felt birthday cake will keep her from asking me to make  Strawberry one every. day. of. the. week. via Colour Me There.
  • Paul & Paula highlights these beautiful shadowbox images full of vintage imagery. At first glance I thought they were miniature rooms – so beautiful.
  • I’m always interested to see the latest alphabet poster ideas – like this super simple toy block alphabet print found over at CMYBacon. The high contrast would be great for babies on a changing table too – keep them mesmerized!
  • Buy Modern Baby has all of my favorite bloggers as guests this week – and now I’m itching for travel in particular, thanks to this travel round-up from Coos & Ahhs.
